EMPLOYEE #1 - In-home Assistant 

Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Weekly Hours:  One day a week for 3 to 4 hours

ABOUT THE CLIENT: 

One adult male (MR) who is a 27 year old w/High Functioning Autism. Quite capable but needs some support. Lives at home in East Santa Rosa.

EMPLOYEE SKILLS:

Need to have some cooking skills and your own car and driver’s license.  

**Bonus points if you are good at baking + have any experience working with the Special Needs population. Bonus points if you enjoy gluten and casein free cooking!

DUTIES: 

 In search of an Employee to teach MR how to cook for himself and clean up the house. He would like to increase his independence, but kitchen safety has been a concern in the past, so we are looking for someone who could participate with him with grocery shopping, and cooking.


ABOUT THE HIRING PROCESS:

You will be hired through an agency (It is not a Respite or IHSS agency). The agency is a 3rd party Financial Management Service that pays for services for individuals with disabilities. 

It is not difficult to complete the hiring paperwork and is similar to being hired at any other care-giver type job (IE. Filling out a W4, background check etc). You will need to complete a finger-print Live Scan to be hired. 

You will be paid for your time in completing these extra steps to be hired, once officially hired. 

You will be paid bi-weekly. You will have the option to be paid via direct deposit or check in the mail.

EMPLOYEE #2 - In-Class Tutor


Pay Rate: $40 per hour

This Tutor/employee will assist JR during his culinary class starting on 3/27. You will need to accompany him on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am - 4:40pm. Class begins 03/27 and ends 05/16.

There will be 7 hours a week of additional tutoring for class a week. This will be  2, two and a half hour sessions for tutoring and a 2 hour baking practice time.  

The baking practice hours available could be for shopping and practice in the kitchen for gluten free casein free recipes once a week with the chef/cook employee. This would probably end up being on one of his days off of both school and work, so most likely a weekend day.

Total week potential hours: 11 hours + class time

CLASS INFO:

CUL 254: Introduction to Baking and Pastry

Description: Baking is both a science and an art. In this hands-on course, students will learn the function of various ingredients, including how different methods and techniques impact resulting baked goods. This course is an introduction to the baking and pastry skills utilized in a commercial kitchen. Students will learn proper measuring, basic formulas, and conversion principles.

EMPLOYEE SKILLS:

Need to have some cooking/culinary background and your own car and driver’s license.  

Bonus points if you are good at baking + have any experience working with the Special Needs population. Bonus points if you enjoy gluten and casein free cooking!

DUTIES: 

Beginning March 27, 2025. The Tutor will need to accompany JR from 9am - 4:40pm on Thursdays and Fridays. JR would like the most assistance with understanding directions, staying on task, taking notes, and safely using kitchen utensils. JR would also like to meet with this tutor a few hours per week outside of class time to work on homework and projects. This meeting can be flexible based on the tutor's schedule.
